**WELCOME TO SIXTH GRADE MATH**

Sixth grade math develops proficiency in computational skills in decimals, ratios, fractions, and percents. This knowledge is used to apply mathematics in real world settings. Herein starts abstract algebraic thinking. This is a challenging transitional period for sixth graders in math. NYS Math Common Core Standards are followed.

This year sixth grade math students will be taking the NYS Math Assessment in the spring.
