Our first graders have been doing a great job at adjusting to the protocols and procedures in school. We have been working on the concepts of addition and subtraction in math. 
We are reviewing short vowel sounds, word families, capitalization and punctuation, writing sentences and recognizing sight words learned. We are also practicing correct letter formation and spacing between words while writing. 
In Religion we have discussed The Feast of the Archangels, Our Guardian Angel, and the life of St. Francis of Assisi. We have been learning about the life of other saints- in preparation for All Saints’ Day. Since the month of October is dedicated to Mary and the Rosary, we had been learning other names that Our Lady is known as such as Our Lady of Fatima.
Science and Social Studies lessons have consisted of determining the weather, seasons, the various changes of Fall, Election day, and upcoming Holidays.
