Welcome to 3rd Grade!!!


Third grade is an amazing and wonderful year packed with fun, exciting, and new learning experiences within all subject content areas. In Class 3-2, students are encouraged to achieve new skills, knowledge and learning goals throughout the entire school year within a student-centered learning environment. Through the presence of God within the classroom and in the minds of the students, they will be making meaningful and memorable connections within schoolwork, the learning process and their everyday lives. I am so excited and privileged to watch each and every student grow, develop, and succeed in all that they do!

Tuesday- Spanish (8:10-8:50) & Gym (10:10-10:50)
Wednesday- Tech/Lib (10:10-10:50) & Liturgical Music (12:10-12:50)
Thursday- Music (1:30-2:10)
Friday- *No Specials!*
* Lunch- (10:50-11:20)
* Recess- (11:20-11:50)

Math- Students will be introduced to newer concepts of Multiplication, Fractions, Division, and Geometry in connection to building upon prior knowledge of Addition and Subtraction Skills. In starting the school year, students will be reviewing previously learned concepts of rounding, place values, and odd/even numbers before the introduction of new material.
ELA- Students will be focusing on Grammar, Spelling, Reading and Writing throughout the course of the school year. In learning how to write opinion pieces and other various writing pieces, students will learn the structure and organization skills of forming a paragraph and be able to apply this learned knowledge to their individual writing skills. 
Science- Students will be looking at animal adaptations, various climates and types of environments, as well as human adaptations and some evidence in looking at fossils.
Social Studies- Students will be conducting activities in research and hands-on activities in looking at U.S Regions and other Geographical Features around the world. 
Religion- Students will be guided in understanding their faith and how to strengthen their faith as they grow and develop each and every day. In learning Religion, students will learn about various Saints throughout the school year.
