Named after St. Thomas Aquinas, the patron saint of students, the Aquinas program seeks to create a self-guided learning experience that transcends the four walls of the classroom. Students involved in Aquinas Program work will learn to value collaboration, hone critical thinking skills and challenge themselves to become autonomous learners and scholars. The Diocese will have an Aquinas Expo in May to celebrate the accomplishments of each school's Aquinas Team. There will be a host site chosen, and each team will bring their displays with them to present to guests, as well as a group of evaluators. There will not be "winners"--instead, teams will be given a feedback document that will help them improve on their process for the following year. Each participant will receive a signed certificate. St. Aidan School is thrilled to participate in the Aquinas Program this year, with a total of twelve students participating from grades six through eight. We are happy to work together to "Learn, Teach, and have Fun."
